Topic review - Wanting to threadsafe Singular-Is there a dev mailing list?

Hi,

I wonder whether Singular has been made thread-safe. I am especially interested in the computation in polynomial rings.

Best regards,
Florian

There is a mailing list but it mainly communicates the questions of users
and some library development work.
For the work on the memory managent I refer to the documentation
(ftp://www.mathematik.uni-kl.de/pub/Math ... OMALLOC.ps)
or ask me directly.

The subject sums it up. I am a computer science / math undergraduate student in my final year, and I am planning to work on threadsafing Singular's memory management system for my senior project.

Singular being "thread safe" results in the ability to perform multiple simultaneous calculations on multi-core and multi-CPU systems, which would yeild very nice speed-up factors.

To this end, I am curious if there is a mailing list for developer discussion. That, or an archive of email discussions, would be very valuable to anyone working with the Singular code. Please let me know if anything vaguely like this exists.

I look forward to hearing from the Singular community.

Cheers!
Sam
