Post subject: install problem: no rxvt, no run.exe for installed rxvt shor
PostPosted: Thu Aug 11, 2005 5:33 pm
I just installed Singular-2.0.5 on a Windows XP system with an existing, current cygwin installation (and a current, existing Xemacs within cygwin).

The installation creates a shortcut "rxvt terminal" with target:
D:cygwinbinrun.exe rxvt +vb -sl 2000 -fn "Courier-14" -tn xterm -cr Red3 -e bash --login -i

But my cygwinbin directory contains no such executable as run.exe. And I cannot even find any rxvt file within the cygwin directory.

Help?

Problem with rxvt shortcut solved! First, I had to explicitly download and install rxvt in cygwin: it's not one of the packages installed by cygwin by default. Second, the shortcut as supplied by the Singular-2-0-5 installation is incorrect with respect to the CURRENT cygwin! The correct way to call rxvt from Windows via a shortcut is:

[drive]:cygwinbinrxvt.exe [etc.]

(In other words, there is no run.exe or cmd.exe used.)
