Hi...I installed Singular 2.0.5 on my PC running Win XP. Then I tried this example from the book:
> ring A = 0, (x,y,z), dp;
> ideal I = y2-zx2;
> LIB "surf.lib";
// ** loaded /usr/local/Singular/2-0-5/LIB/surf.lib (1.19.2.6,2002/07/17)
> plot (I, "rot_x=1.45;rot_y=1.36;rotz_=4.5;");
I got an error message saying the application could not run because the cygX11-6.dll is missing!!!! I reinstalled Singular using the "Repair" function from the installer but the problem persists.
Also, on a side note, the rxvt version doesn't start when I run it from "Tools", and when I typed TSingular.exe in the run command I got this message:
Error: Execution of /usr/bin/rxvt.exe +vb - sl2000 -fb Courier-bold-12-tn xterm -cr Red3 -e /usr/local/Singular/2-0-5/ix86-Win/Singular.exe
And within the terminal window it says "failed to load libX11.dll"
Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks.
M.B.
