Post subject:  Computing Groebner Basis

Hi All -

I am a new user to Singular, and I wanted to compute the Groebner basis and transform matrix for a set of polynomials.

(Given a set of polynomials {H1,Â…,HN}, there exist a Grobner basis {B1,Â…,BN} and a transform matrix Wij, such that: Bi(z) = sum{ Wij(z) Hj(z) })

I saw some examples / code about Groebner Basis on the site: http://www.singular.uni-kl.de/Manual/la ... htm#SEC571, but am having trouble figuring out what it means.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a way to input a series of polynomials into Singular, to obtain the Groebner bases and transform matrix? Again, I am new to Singular, so any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Gina Upperman

liftstd is the command you are looking for:
