Post subject: | can calculations be shown? |
hi, i am using singular calculate standard basis or reduce monomials from a given ideal. is there any possiblility to show the calculations from input to output? maybe a chain of equations giving the result finally? i tried "option(prot);" but its not satisfying. thank you in advance. peter |

Dear Peter, For teaching/learning purposes there is the library "teachstd.lib" (see http://www.singular.uni-kl.de/Manual/latest/sing_1470.htm#SEC1547). Its routines explain every step, if used with sufficiently high printlevel. If you are only interested in the history of reductions, you may use lift or liftstd. On the other hand, you may get some rather technical trace info by using: "option(teach);". Regards, Oleksandr

Also, teachstd.lib is already included in SINGULAR 3-1-0. Regards, Alexander |
