While trying to understand absPrimdecGTZ i stumbled across absFactorize and tried to understand it.

The reference for absFactorize is
G. Cheze, G. Lecerf: Lifting and recombination techniques for absolute
factorization. Journal of Complexity, 23(3):380-420, 2007.

That article deals only with the absolute factorization of a bivariate polynomial. Nevertheless the implementation in singular seems to handle an arbitray number of variables. Is this true ( maybe it is trivial to pass from 2 to an arbitrary number of variables)?

Is someone working on the implementation for the case of algebraic extension of the base field?
